Grüner See (Green Lake) is a lake in Styria, Austria. In the winter you’ll find crisp, tranquil grasslands and lake that is only about 3 to 6 feet deep. However, during the spring, when the temperature rises and the snow melts, the basin of land below the mountains fills with water. The lake reaches its maximum depth of around 40 feet from mid-May to June and is claimed to look the most beautiful at this time.
Okay, so, yes, obviously, but… nearly sixteen years later i’m still alone and things have only gotten worse, really. I obeyed my parents and my entire adult life has been waiting for God to come back, waiting for my imzadi, waiting for anything to make life bearable, anything to fix this. Apparently, the only place i’m supposed to be is with my parents and siblings, in debt, single. Why did i not commit suicide? It certainly wasn’t so i could live like this for the rest of my life.
Sure, God could fix this, He’s capable of anything. I have no reason to believe that He will, that He has any intention of my life on earth being anything more than this hell. It’s like a test of wills. How long can i remain submitted without trying to fix it myself? How long can i bear to not try to at least snatch at any comfort i can, regardless of His will? And i’m very scared that i am losing and that very soon it will all be for nothing because i am not strong enough to do this.
“When they made this particular hero, they didn’t give him a gun. They gave him a screwdriver to fix things. They didn’t give him a tank or a warship or an x-wing fighter—they gave him a box from which you can call for help. And they didn’t give him a superpower or pointy ears or a heat-ray—they gave him an extra HEART. They gave him two hearts! And that’s an extraordinary thing. There will never come a time when we don’t need a hero like the Doctor.” ― Steven Moffat
I had originally not wanted to see Galaxy Quest because I heard that it was making fun of Star Trek. Then Jonathan Frakes rang me up and said ‘You must not miss this movie! See it on a Saturday night in a full theater.’ And I did, and of course I found it was brilliant. Brilliant. No one laughed louder or longer in the cinema than I did. - Patrick Stewart
Possibly one of my fave comedies of ALL time! Alan Rickman, Tim Allen, and Sigourney Weaver were fucking amazing in this movie!!
We went to the theater to see this, my mom, aunt, sister, and me, Trekkers all. We were the only people laughing. No one else got the jokes. That made me sad, because i thought it was wonderful. These days, i know many people who love this film, who it would have been brilliant to go see it with for the first time. What’s is amazing is that, even though it’s a spoof, they made it with respect. The fans help save the day, too. They weren’t making fun of Star Trek, they were saying that this is a great family to be part of.
